Welcome to Storytime By Design, a children’s entertainment company specializing in producing musical story hours. Endorsed by the producers of So Smart!, winner of over 30 National Parenting Awards, your child will be exposed to classic and new works of fiction from exciting and upcoming authors in children’s literature. The perfect class for children 6 months-5 years old, we have changed the face of story time by making the story hour structured, educational, entertaining and interactive!
We also create original musical story hours for children’s authors looking to launch a book. We work with publishers as well as children’s authors and include original music, puppetry, art, and movement games to make a unique and exciting presentation that help sell books and make the author shine during their reading. We have created story hour presentations for many children’s authors and have created unique musical compositions for their books as well. Our mailing list is also helpful to children’s authors and publishers. StoryTime By Design, Inc. is the go to company when you want emails sent to our list of over 20,000 subscribers.
Advised by highly accredited educational experts and pediatricians, our curriculum incorporates educational activities which help develop fine motor skills, color and letter recognition, counting numbers and socialization skills through the stories of each book.
By using visual aides, funky hip-hop music, and various teaching components, children will experience the joy of storytelling, and take home unique language, speech and pre-reading comprehension skills. Puppetry, dramatic play, music and art are also apart of the “Storytime By Design” experience.
In addition, valuable socialization skills necessary for ongoing school success will also be stressed. Author visits and readings are also apart of this innovative experience.
Stay Tuned for StoryTime Original Music Cd’s, and our book, Milly and Her Magnificent Mess. We also will introduce our Concept/Category “Im Thinking Of” books and dvd series in 2010. Our concept books will help develop expressive and descriptive language and will provide activities to bond with your child and allow for communication. And with our dvd series in the works, all children will be able to experience a StoryTime By Design adventure.

Biography
Karen Levine
Karen Levine is a renowned physical therapist and former director of a large outpatient rehabilitation center. She also designs and helps implement wellness/rehabilitation centers and programs for the disabled; lectures and teaches on preventive medicine and quality of life issues; and has worked with children, professional athletes, sports teams and corporations. Additionally, she is a former United
States health policy advisor to the World Economic forum in Geneva, Switzerland, and was an advisor to the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) and helped develop the " HEAL" partnership (Healthy Living and Active living Global partnership).
She has also been very active in the educational community. Previously she was a management analyst to the vice dean for finance and administration at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, Served as a board of Advisor to Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, and even was a president of the Parents Association of a New York City Elementary School.
Currently, she is a board member of Columbia University Children’s Center for Environmental Health and volunteers for numerous organizations. She resides with her husband and 2 young daughters in Manhattan and is very active in the community.
Cori Cohen
Cori Cohen has worked in Public Relations and Marketing
for over 20 years. Her clients have run the gamut from
Lifestyle, Publishing and Fashion Corporations to
Entertainment Personalities. Cori also has a BA in English Literature and a BFA in Music from UCLA.
In addition to a career in PR and Marketing, Cori has
worked as a songwriter producing music for The Los Angeles Raiders Corporation and various production companies. She has also worked as a back-up vocalist at Record Plant for a number of established recording artists. A principal member of The Los Angeles Civic Light Opera, Cori toured for five years with the National Children’s Theater Company, LB Productions and appeared in over 15 of their productions.
Cori is currently the Executive Producer of StoryTime By Design Author Readings/Special Events and the the organizations first CD, It’s a StoryTime Jam-Rock the Book with StoryTime By Design, Inc. Volume 1.
Cori currently resides in NYC with her husband Jonathan and two children, Juliette and Benjamin.
